Chapter 7. The Way Things Are: Sometimes settling for the way things are is a lowering of expectations, sometimes it’s finding a starting point so that one can make things better. Where are you in this continuum?
I, probably like many, go back and forth, but I’m happy that I’m not constantly pessimistic expecting perfection. Nature makes no judgment, humans do. Good and bad are categories we impose on the world. When you get good news, thank the lord. Bad news, praise the lord. You’re wise my son so just to be on the safe side, always thank the lord.
I believe that I float around the middle. More often than not, I set my goals so high that I don't always attain them. This may be because I once heard that it is better to set your goals higher and not fully reach them than set them lower and reach them all the time. That being said, I can relate this to working out at the gym with my brother Brian. He would see that I push myself to my limits and occasionally injure myself in the process or strain a muscle. He pulls me down a great deal and says its most important to start with success and then build upon that little by little. So I'd like to thank my brother Brian, a physical therapist that has helped me to be successful throughout life not quickly, but over time.
Chapter 8. Giving Way to Passion: Control says that the only way to avoid disappointment and frustration is to not care at all. No hits, no runs, but most importantly, no errors. What are you doing in your daily life that expresses your passion or the things you are passionate about?
There is nothing more fragrant than possibility. Participate wholly into your passion. Rather than think about the value of results, simply go with the flow, similar to one buttock playing. We must flow naturally. Rather than focusing so much on perfection, which may very well inhibit you with the natural flow, simply flow with the waves, the wind, the weather, the beat, etc.
Currently I’m saving money in order to purchase another rental property in the city. I’m passionate on making life easier in the future. Although I have a good goal in mind, I may be forgetting Rule #6. When I achieve a set goal, for example saving $300 per paycheck for a future property, I tend to bump it up further. Roughly 3 years ago, I received a book for Christmas titled The Richest Man in Babylon. It focused on one’s earnings making them more money. Rather than spend it, save it or invest it, but invest it wisely and know the difference of poor investments. It goes on to suggest one to fatten thy purse and continue each year, never settling for less than the previous year. While my intentions are good, I seem to be taking this so seriously that I may be letting life pass me by.
I admit that I’m passionate about having a less stressful life in the future; however, being too serious about this now is causing me to add stress in my current life, which is definitely unnecessary.
Chapter 9. Lighting a Spark. It’s not about us. It’s about them. What are you doing to pay-forward from your universe of possibility?
It’s funny that what I wrote previously applies to exactly this. I’m paying forward for the possibility to get out of the rat race. I don’t want to work simply to pay bills throughout life; therefore, I’m lighting the spark within myself. I guess you could say that my future self is meeting with my current self to invite him to greater possibilities. While it will take sacrifices now, it will surely benefit me in life ahead.
Other than this, I plan to put together a wikispace with organized Spanish vodcasts. After successful completion, I plan to go to both my elementary school and high school to give teachers the necessary links, passwords, etc.
Hopefully this will ignite a spark for other teachers to establish an anywhere, anytime, anyplace learning environment as well. Who knows? This may have the administration interested in me conducting a presentation among faculty. Therefore, if I give them 2 quarters now, it’s quite possible that I will be compensated in much more.

Let me start off by saying nice touch with the quote. I can remember numerous times whereby I have learned from my mistakes and I’m thankful for making those mistakes. One being my first year teaching, I had lived down the shore for the summer and felt like I was the richest man on the planet spending more than I could afford. Since it was so drastic, I learned to put aside some money to have fun with, while increasing my savings each year. Had I not made the drastic mistake(s) the first year, who knows if I would have truly learned what I’m so thankful for today.
I can relate to wanting to improve on things throughout this program. Nevertheless, I have been dedicated to it throughout the year while teaching 4 different preps and coaching 3 seasons of sports back to back. I finally had to take a Leave of Absence after month 10, yet I feel it was necessary. I’m glad I did that and look forward to improving my skills from here on.

Next time, go with your gut. I very often do the same as you did in this example. I used to drive the lane in basketball, take the shots, pass and quite frequently knowing the game I would demand the ball back. I don’t mean to sound cocky, but I was quite talented for the members on our team. During a game, someone was upset and told the coach that I never passed the ball. I passed the ball very much so, but this had a great impact on how I would play basketball in the future, even until this day. Now, I hear people telling me I should shoot more and take it to the hole, rather than pass the ball so much. I’m entering a summer basketball league in a few weeks. I’ll try my best to have a nice mixture, but if given the opportunity, I’ll try my best to learn from your soccer game.

Wk 3 Blog of My Choice:
For this entry, I wish to talk about how I've put more time into blogging and organizing my blog than I ever have in the past. It's nice to organize it by weeks as well. I'm going to try starting this at the beginning of the school year with my different Spanish classes. I may type my thoughts in Spanish and have them comment as a homework assignment. For this, I won't focus on grading them grammatically. The grading rubric will be more based on a certain number and/or length of comments. Ha, am I overwhelming myself by stating all the goals I wish to accomplish for next year? Yes! Focusing on the positive and going with the natural flow of the waves is what I'll do. If it fails, so what. If it succeeds, great!
